 US President Abraham Lincoln Suspends Habeas Corpus (1861)In law, habeas corpus is a writ ordering that a person be brought before a judge, especially to decide whether a prisoner's detention is lawful. Its suspension means that prisoners can be held indefinitely without being charged. During the US Civil War, President Lincoln suspended habeas corpus to arrest and silence Southern dissenters. ReplyDeleteNeither is in Seattle. They were both taken during our trip to Ecuador on separate occasions. The first was just North of the city where we went swimming in a river one day and the other was outside the house one evening. It was still sort of raining and the sun was sort of peaking out and VOILA!!!!! Rainbow!

We are finally getting some summer (or at least what they call summer out here) weather and we are having a blast.
